24×30″ oil on canvas
(original available)
If memory serves me correctly, this is the 1st time I’ve painted myself in over two decades. I decided to create this piece to show at a solo exhibit at San Francisco’s Psychedelic SF Gallery in September of 2022. In the Background, the floating city featured in “Bittersweet Delirium” is decimating all in its path, while figures shown in sleeping attire helplessly follow their orbs, representing the distractions of our modern world, off a cliff towards the floating city to meet certain death. Not wanting to put myself above anyone else, the hook in my eye attached to my orb shows that even though I am aware, I am still begrudgingly attached to the same system. Waking up is just not enough.
